The SIU Director will conduct investigations of non-standard marine insurance claims in multiple states and facilitate loss control objectives and excellence in claims performance as well as report fraud activities, trends and recommendations to improve the overall performance of our Claims Department. Additional responsibilities include:
Oversight of adjusting staff activities involving SIU related files
Management of individual case load, including litigated files
Coordination with various states’ Dept. of Insurance Fraud, NICB, etc
Management and development of external vendor resources
Analysis of suspected fraud claims (first and third party)
Development and management of state fraud reporting requirementsEssential Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years SIU claims management experience with a personal lines carrier, including experience with state reporting and compliance
Strong written and verbal skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Litigation management experience
Customer service focus
Industry fraud designation such as CIFI
Bachelor’s degree or equivalentDesirable Qualifications:
Investigator’s license
Adjuster’s license
Law degree
Law enforcement experience
IASU or similar membership
