    Established in 2004, MedRed LLC develops and integrates healthcare IT solutions for government and commercial customers. Our state of the art medical informatics solutions benefit our wounded warriors and other patients in the Veterans Affairs (VA) and Department of Defense (DoD) medical facilities. With our recent successes, we are expanding our organization and seeking a Research Data Analyst to join our Washington, DC team.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The scope of work involves interaction with customer representatives, research personnel, and developers to assemble data collection tools, manage databases and data dictionaries, author electronic forms using MedRed’s Balto Authorware, and develop the statistical elements and formatting of clinical decision support and research reports.

    The Research Data Analyst provides customer focused leadership in support of wounded warrior research-related applications of MedRed informatics systems at customer sites. Applicant must be able to understand and analyze research protocols, procedures and objectives and interact with clients, system users and developers to facilitate the identification and management of data elements, data sets and research reporting capabilities for the MedRed system. This individual will interface with the MedRed systems engineer, other MedRed staff and customers to ensure coordination of data entry activity and support for data integrity and quality assurance efforts.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Collaborate with the on-sight research teams to generate specifications and aid in the automation of research-related data collection and reporting functions
    • Work with relational databases, such as SQL Server and Reporting Services, to generate data reporting capabilities that support and integrate with MedRed’s data capture and decision support applications
    • Provide technical support and training to customers, as well as direct assistance to sales staff, as required
    • Provide technical support to product implementation team, including assistance with data mapping and exchange activities
    • Create and maintain online resources relative to above activities

    KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Undergraduate or Graduate (4-year) degree, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science. PhD preferred. Strong analytic skills in research planning, technical decision-making and product support necessary. Medical informatics experience or experience with SQL reporting services a plus. The successful applicant will be able to present to technical and non-technical audiences, have strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, and have the ability to communicate effectively over the phone. Understanding of databases and data architectures is preferred. Position will require the successful completion of a government background check.

    flexible approach to job responsibilities, hands-on approach and good interpersonal skills.

    SALARY AND BENEFITS: Dependent upon educational preparation and experience. Benefits package includes paid vacation, personal days, employer-contributed medical, dental insurance, and 401K Plan.
