    About the job:

    This position works in the Division of Technical Assistance Training and Treatment. It is responsible for the coordination and implementation of Capacity Building Assistance (CBA) activities in which NMAC provides to state health departments (HDs) and community planning groups (CPGs) funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The successful candidate will assist in developing plans to increase organizational capacity and build sustainable organizational infrastructures that support the delivery of effective HIV prevention services and interventions. The position manages assigned CBA for HDs and CPGs. This position includes up to 40% of business travel.

    Position Overview:

    • Coordinate the delivery of all capacity building activities for state health departments and community planning groups.
    • Provides technical assistance and trainings to health departments and community planning groups.
    • Coordinate all necessary logistic details for trainings, including but not limited to, meeting space and AV requirements, participant and consultant travel arrangements.
    • Review materials that are developed for technical assistance and trainings.
    • Administer and review organizational needs assessments to HDs and CPGs to ensure the delivery of appropriate capacity building assistance.
    • Works with Manager to recruit, vet and hire consultants to develop and/or implement CBA services.
    • Assist in the development and production of quarterly reports, progress reports and work plans, and ensure that monitoring occurs consistently with grant goals and objectives.
    • Monitor and assess the implementation of CBA activities in cooperation with the Evaluator. Collaborate closely with the Evaluator to identify the appropriate outcome measures and monitoring the results of the CBA delivery (i.e. quality assurance).
    • Implement specific program duties as described in individual program work plans.
    • Represent NMAC at various conferences, meetings and other event as assigned.
    • Monitor and update all training opportunities on the CDCs Training Events Calendar (TEC).

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Public Health, Education, or related field or equivalent combination of five to seven years’ of progressive work experience in the non-profit field.
    • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in capacity building efforts, with emphasis on community needs assessment and planning initiatives.
    • Knowledge of health department organizational needs regarding organizational infrastructure and sustainability, program development and implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and community planning.
    • Demonstrated understanding of and experience in planning, design and implementation of culturally and linguistically appropriate community-level programs and initiatives.
    • Demonstrated understanding of and experience in planning, design and development of training materials and curricula, as well as the delivery of training services and technical assistance.
    • Must possess strong project management skills, planning and demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and adhere to strict guidelines.

    Compensation is competitive, based on experience and educational qualifications.

    NMAC will not reimburse interview travel costs.
