Laboratory Senior Scientist 2 (Civilian Position)
Location: Washington, DCFTE Government Contract: Base year plus 4 option years; Exempt; Full Medical Benefits included.
BioWatch is a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) program that funds, manages and provides policy oversight for this effort in partnership with federal, state and local agencies. The Systems Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) Contractor will support DHS in coordinating, managing and improving BioWatch Program operations.
The BioWatch Systems Program Office (SPO) is one of the important biosecurity tools used by public health agencies to warn of the presence of biological agents. The BioWatch SPO consists of advance development, production, testing, fielding, sustainment and disposal of operational bio-aerosol threat monitoring and response assistance capability for metropolitan areas, special events and surge requirements.

Requirements:
• Since this is a government contract, one of the following requirements must be met: You must be a US citizen, a naturalized citizen, or born abroad to US citizen(s).
• Performs the functions of a technical expert in the relevant scientific field in support of major programs or system development.
• Applies scientific expertise in defining and resolving system issues, performing analysis, and developing plans and requirements in the subject-matter area for complex systems.
• Supports planning activities for multicenter studies, and short term testing activities to resolve technical issues.
• Coordinates technical consultation requests and tracks to satisfactory outcomes.
• Coordinates and manages the preparation of analysis, evaluations, and recommendations for proper implementation of programs and systems.
• Doctorate M.S. degree.
• Must have 10 years of experience in laboratory based science generating analytical results from testing of clinical or environmental samples.
• Secret Clearance required.
