HR Recruiter/ Generalist (Springfield, VA)

    Essential Functions:

    •Perform all aspects related to recruiting including: maintaining People-Trak recruiting database, posting job vacancies internally and externally, screen resumes, administering applicant testing, scheduling and conducting interviews, administering background tests and drug tests, performing reference checks, extending offers of employment, and sending out new-hire packets.
    •Enter new hire data and update current employee information in People-Trak.
    •Enter new hires into E-Verify.
    •Establish and maintain contacts with other rehabilitation agencies for AbilityOne contract recruitment.
    •Maintain and audit personnel files for compliance and regulatory needs.
    •Maintain an ongoing pool of substitutes to provide support for our center-based programs.
    •Answer employee questions related to organization policies.
    •Perform exit interview and analyze exit interview data to compile turnover trends.
    •Maintain and update the organizational chart.
    •Assist with employee relations to include: employee concerns, grievances, and disciplinary actions.
    •Provide back-up on benefits administration to include: annual open enrollment, new hire data entry, 401(k) hardship withdrawals, and short term disability and FMLA requests.
    •Coordinate with the Training and Development Manager to deliver monthly orientations.
    •Handle worker’s compensation claims.

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

    •Knowledge of employment laws including: FLSA, COBRA, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, ADA, ADEA, GINA, OSHA, HIPPA, ERISA, USERRA, and FMLA.
    •Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
    •Ability to manage one’s time effectively and efficiently.
    •Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with all stakeholders.
    •Ability to use logic and reasoning skills to identify strengths and weakness of proposed solutions to complex problems.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business management, or similar field required. Three years of HR generalist and recruiting experience in an HR department required. PHR preferred.
