MVLE a not for profit organization in Northern VA looking for a part-time Art Therapist.

Position Responsibilities:

• Plan and conduct art therapy programs in our three centers, two in Springfield and one in Chantilly to rehabilitate mentally and physically disabled clients

• Confer with members of medically oriented team to determine physical and psychological needs of client.

• Devise art therapy program to fulfill physical and psychological needs.

• Instruct individuals and groups in use of various art materials, such as paint, clay, and yarn.

• Appraise client’s art projections and recovery progress.

• Report findings to other members of treatment team and counsel on client’s response until art therapy is discontinued.

• Maintain and repair art materials and equipment.

The schedule for this position can be flexible but must fit into the hours of 8am to 4pm Monday through Friday.
